The CREATOR mini-programme had their fourth workshop on October 27th in Oviedo Asturias. During the working the participants dicussed the future need for products, services and human resources when it comes to the ageing population. Complete workshop report will be found here.

On September 29th the CREATOR Steering Committee decided to approve the seventh and last project. The project is called GENERATIONS and intends to transfer knowledge from the elderly on their way out of the labour market to youngsters in the beginning of their working career.

The project was approved with a budget of EUR 393 930 and will begin their work on October 1st 2011.

CREATORs third call closed on Thursday September 22nd. Decision on approved projects will be made by the Steering Committee on Thursday the 29th 2011.

The CREATOR working group has decided on a new deadline for the thrid call. The new deadline is September 22nd 2011.

The CREATOR mini-programme’s Steering Committee has decided to launch a third call for proposals. This call is a thematic call with the topic: Active ageing.

Active ageing is the European Commission’s initiative for 2012. The call for proposals launches on June 27th 2011 and closes on September 22nd 2011. The sub-project approved in this call will start their activities on October 1st 2011 and end by June 30th 2013.Decision on approved projects will be made on September 29th by the CREATOR Steering Committee.For more information regarding the call, contact your regional coordinator found here

2 more projects were approved during the CREATOR mini-programme’s 2nd Steering Committee meeting in Häme in June 2011. The two project: SILVER ECONOMY and ENSURE have four participating regions each.

SILVER ECONOMY  aims to prepare the market for the coming needs of the elderly through such measures as market research.

ENSURE will use the experience and knowledge of the elderly to create a database of seniors. This in turn will help companies in the region to develop and use the seniors experience.

These two projects will help CREATOR in turning the challenge of an ageing population into an opportunity for regional development.

The first SC-meeting the 18th of November, held in Västerbotten – Sweden, decided to approve four out of seven submitted applications. About 2 milion Euros will be shared between the projects and its participants. Until the 31st of December some small questions have to be solved and then the projects are expected to start their work the 1st of January 2011.

But CREATOR still keeps about 1 milion Euros to be used in a Second Call. The dates for a second call will soon be published.

SILHOUETTE to let an ageing population take part in the society by the development of different products. Lead Partner in Wielkopolska – Poland, having partners in Häme – Finland, Västerbotten – Sweden, North Hungary – Hungary, Brescia – Italy, Lorraine – France, Asturias – Spain.
EFFECT on how to reach the best quality of care taking models between exchange of experiences. Lead Partner in Häme – Finland, having partners in Västerbotten – Sweden, Brescia – Italy, Lorraine – France, Asturias – Spain.
RECO for an increased cooperation between authoroties and volunteer organisations. Lead Partner in Västerbotten Sweden, having partners in Häme – Finland, North Hungary – Hungary, Lorraine – France, Wielkopolska – Poland. The project is still looking for a participant in Brescia – Italy.

Josiane MADELAINE, vice president of the region of Lorraine opened the partnering meeting in Metz the 8th of June 2010.

 
About forty participants met for discussions about ideas and how to work together about a future demographic challenge.
First call of CREATOR was launched and the last day for application the 24th of September 2010. Many groups of participants, having ideas, are still looking for additional participants in any of the seven cooperating regions.
